The parish of West Alvington comprises the village of West Alvington, in the South Hams area of South Devon. The parish is in an area of outstanding natural beauty which lies between Dartmoor and the sea with the Eddystone light 18 nautical miles out to sea.
Malborough and South Milton are adjacent parishes with the town of Kingsbridge also on the doorstep and Salcombe approx. 6 miles away. The resident population of the parish is approximately 500.
The Parish Council consists of 9 Councillors and a part-time Clerk. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, every month, although there may be exceptions to this in January and August - Please watch the website and noticeboards for full details.
All planning applications submitted to the Parish Council via South Hams District Council are discussed at each monthly meeting. Occasionally there may be a need to hold a specific planning meeting, however, full notification will be given prior to any meeting.
